And the winner of our new home is.....

UTAH!!! I know you were all dying to know!! It looks we wont be moving to Connecticut for at least the next year. Jer and I made an executive decision that his next year here could be very profitable, so why give that up to move across the country.. It could still happen next year or the year after. But as for now we are staying here, and Jer is going to kick butt in his territory this year. I know everyone is sighing a HUGE sigh of relief.....

Our Labor day adventures...

So Saturday morning, Jer got this crazy idea. He says, " Lets go see Heather in Colorado Springs! We dont have any plans for the weekend, and we havent seen them for awhile."

Me, " Are you kidding? you want to drive 9 hrs today? stay for a day, then drive 9 hrs on labor day? Jer, " Yea, why not? its spontaneous. The kids will love it." So guess what we did? we drove 9, yes 9 hours to go visit his sister and family. Luckily we have a fabulous travel car, otherwise it could have been a total disaster. But the weekend was fun. The kids had a wonderful time. It was good to see them. Then drive back, however was not so much fun. Dax got a fever, threw up at the diner we ate dinner at, and pretty much wimpered the whole drive home. But again the weekend was fun....
Here are the kids with their cousins right before we left..

The kids first day of school *sniff sniff*

And here is Dax's first day of his second year of preschool... He is kind of over the preschool thing, and really wants to be in kindergarten. He is so bright, he probably could be. His first day wasnt as emotional for me as Ryens, I guess because I have done this before, and its his second year. But it is crazy how fast the kids grow, and I only have Ava at home now. Next year I wont have any! weird.

So here is ryens first day of 1st grade. I seriously couldnt wait for school to start again, the kids were driving me almost completely mad.. then as I go to drop off ryen on her first day, and she barely has time to say goodbye, and runs off to the playground- tears drip down my face. What?? I cried? I was so excited for this day. Ryen could have cared less.. my social butterfly was off and spreading her wings. I didnt realize how hard it would be to have my first baby go to school all day long. So funny how that is. But Im glad she enjoys herself, and is confident enough to run onto the playground and play with the first person she sees. She is such a fun person, and its going to be so much fun seeing her grow and blossom.

Ava's first ballet class..

Here is Ava's first day of Ballet.. it was so cute. Girls this age are so fun to watch learning all the new fun things they can do. Ava looked so cute in her leotard and tights. She already has that ballerina body.. This one is with her friend Samantha.. Here she is all done with her class...

Here is she about to warm up...

And here is is skipping to her teacher... so cute

Jers first hairdo attempt....

So jeremy decided along time ago, that because I do hair, and I guess do it so well, that he has refused to do the girls hair. So if I am working, my girls have always gone around looking like ragamuffins because Jer refused to try. ( he also tried this excuse at cooking until he realized he might starve if he didnt learn when I was at work- u can only eat pb&j, and pizza so much!) So here is Jers first attempt at braids. Lets all give him Kudos for the great job! hopefully he will keep it up!!!

My love hate relationship with Jari Love..

So if you want some masochistic workouts, try these DVDS. They are ridiculous. I do them 3 times a week at least, and they never seem to get ANY easier. They kick my butt every time. Its crazy. But if you want to see some crazy results try these. The one that says 1000 on it, u can burn up to 1000 calories doing that workout. What? Yes, you want to punch her in the face after every exercise. . . . . But I love them

So, do we move?

China? Connecticut? Boston?

So where will it be?

So Jeremy has been thinking about his career lately.. and his conclusion is that he really needs to be in a global position with his company. He majored in Chinese for that reason, and now figures its time. So he has been in discussion with the "higher ups" and they are looking for a position as we speak. So, my dilemma is the inter um... We have been talking about possibly moving somewhere for the past 2 months and I just want to know ALREADY!!! I cant seem to stay focused on the NOW because i am wanting to know where we will be in six months. We could live in connecticut.. Boston...or even China. All very different places than little old Utah, but could be such an adventure. Im excited for the future, and where it could take us. But I hate not knowing!!!!! AAAHHHHH! Thats my vent for the day.

Jer and I at the Police Concert...

Jer and I at the Police concert... It was awesome. They are amazing musicians! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

New Kid "isms"

Just need to document some more funny stories that the kids have done or said...
A few months ago we were at my little sisters house dropping off something. We got back into the car, and Ryen who is six, asked, " Mom, why does Aunt Amanda live in such a small apartment?" and I tried to be diplomatic, and say, " well, some people choose to live in an apartment, and some people arent in a stage in their life where they can afford a house yet. And Thats where Amanda is right now. We are lucky that Daddy works hard and could buy us a house." And Ryen felt so bad that she said," Mom, we should give her all of our money so she can buy a bigger house." Then Dax interupted Ryen and said, " Ryen, thats not your job." Its so funny because Ryen is so compassionate, and wants to give. And Dax is SO black and white, and honest. This interaction showed their personalities to a T!
AVA-
TERRY B WITH EE A = Teribithia
So last night we went to the POLICE concert. After the concert we went back to the Grandparents house to pick up the kids. Ava,( wide awake at 11:30) asked where I went, and asked if I went to see fireworks.( she heard fireworks in Draper). So I said no, we went to watch the POLICE. She said, "Oh." A few minutes later, she started asking Daddy the same questions, and this was the interaction- "Daddy, did you go see, um, uh, the FIREMAN?" So funny.
DAX-
So friday my mom brought Dax some brand new drum sticks.. And his response was, " Do drums come with these?" He REALLY wants to play the drums..

I seriously LOVE my kids. They bring so much humor and joy to our lives! I know God made them that way, so we dont kill them when they punch their sibling in the face.. jk.

Kids funny quotes for the Day...

So I need to document some of the funny quotes the children have said in the last few months...

DAX-
This happened awhile ago, but I need to write it down so I dont forget.. So my nephew was watching Dax one night, and he gave him some Oreos. And this was the conversation- Dax," These oreos are so DAMN good!" my nephew, " What did you say?" Dax, " You heard me." Classic dax.

AVA-
Yesterday, I was in cleaning my room, and Ava who is only 2 1/2, in her princess dress up and a purse, sits down on the floor by me and says, "Mom, lets have a talk."
My favorite thing right now that I just cant bring myself to change is the way Ava says things.. the other day Ava was singing a song about " DOMALD duck" and when she is mad at me, she says, " im not calking to you, im calking to Dax"( or Ryen, or Dad.. whomever she chooses for the moment) and her favorite disney character is "KINKERBELL"

Ambers work...

So here is some of my recent hair/ makeup work... These are mostly character shots, so its hard to see my actual work, but they are cool..

These next two are supposed to be a couple that look like its in the 50's . This was a fun shoot.

This one you have to look carefully, but I even had to make the guy have a sunburn, and make his hands look dirty. The hands bit is a little tough to see.. but it was fun doing it!

Lake Powell trip 2008

So its been a crazy summer so far.. so I have been slacking on the blogging. But here is our trip to Lake Powell. It was so much fun. Our kids loved every minute of it, and now want to live on a house boat in Lake Powell. So here are the kids all doing what they do best.. Ryen contemplating life, Dax shooting a gun, and Ava getting into trouble...

Here is Me, Ava, and my niece Meredith on the tube. Ava wanted to go faster and faster. She didnt want to give anyone else a turn. She was more of a dare devil than her sister!

Dax and I just chillin on the boat...

And Me and Ryen just chillin...

Ryen exploring the water, looking for shells...

Jer and Shelbs soaking in the rays...

Jer and kids playing in the water.. Ava always bossed someone to come and play in the lake with her. Then she would tell you how to play once you got there. It was usually ring around the rosies..

Ryen, Shelbs, Jer first tube of the trip.. ryen had no idea what was in store. It took her a few days to get back on the thing.

Dax on our hike.. showing his big muscles..

At the end of our hike we came to this beautiful natural arch.. this is us underneath. The hike was not the funnest hike I have ever been on. Especially with kids. We were told it was an easy hour and a half strole to this arch, which ended up being a four hour hike through Marsh land that the water came up to my mid thigh, and to my kids chests. They were not pleased. Not to mention it smelled and was slimy. Once we got out of the slime.. my sister in law asked Dax-wasnt that an awesome hike? And Dax's response was " No Heidi, that was not awesome, that was Nasty. I am never going on a hike again." It was very funny. he was not amused.

Here is Ava walking through Tadpoles. At one point they were trying to catch them.

And here is Ava all geared up for the Lake. She loved that hat. She wouldnt go outside without it.
